Tomato paste is a thick paste made by adding sugar to a ripe tomatoes with skin and seeds removed. It is commonly used to enrich the flavor of sauces especially tomato sauce. You can usually obtain this in tin cans or squeeze tubes.

Tomato puree is different from tomato sauce or tomato paste in consistency and content. Tomato puree lacks the additives that are common to complete tomato sauce and it does not have the thickness of paste.

Tomato sauce on the other hand is any of the various sauces that are made primarily out of tomatoes and usually served as part of a dish rather than as condiment. They are commonly used for meat and vegetables and are also best know as sauces for pasta dishes.

Tomato puree is one which is made from fresh tomatoes. The tomatoes are blanched ,skin is removed and then blended. Finally it is strained to form a thick liquid.Whereas tomato sauce is a thinner tomato puree with added seasoning and flavoring. But
Tomato paste is cooked for several hours, strained and reduced to a thick, rich concentrate.
