What is the difference between summary and responsive writing?

Where can I find examples of summary and responsive writing? Are there any websites, forums or blogs that compare summary and responsive writing?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

Summary writing and responsive writing differ in their purpose. When writing a summary, the writer attempts to put into his/her own words the material she/he has just read. The purpose here is to get to the facts of the chapter or novel or article the writer just read. Oftentimes, this summary should be shorter, in some cases, much, much shorter, than the original. An abstract for an academic essay would be a kind of summary writing.
Responsive writing asks the reader to give his/her personal perspective on the piece he/she has just read, or after viewing a particular movie or event. The objective of this kind of writing is for the writer to fuse his ideas and perspectives in relation to the subject matter at hand. The goal here is very subjective to the reader.

While I was unable to find a website that had examples of I did find a site that thoroughly explains both parts and what is expected of them. I'm sure if you went to some writing forums and asked someone to write you some examples they would definitely be able to show you in clear detailed examples. If you really need someone to help you with examples and do not want to find a forum that you can ask someone to write some out, feel free to contact me and I would be more than willing to help you and write up some examples that will showcase the summary and responsive writing.
