What is the difference between "Hard Rock" & "Heavy Metal" music?
How do you define the line between the two? Naming of bands is encouraged!

The definition from yourdictionary.com of hard rock is "loud, fast, blues-based rock music with driving, regular rhythms," and heavy metal is defined as "a form of rock music characterized by very loud amplification, electronic distortion, throbbing rhythms, shouted lyrics, etc."
They are fairly similar, but there are a couple clear distinctions as you see from the definitions.
Some examples of bands that are categorized at hard rock are: Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, AC/DC, and the like.
And here are some heavy metal bands: Metallica, Motorhead, Korn, Dio, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, etc.
Hope this helps with the distinction!
