Earth Science is the study of the earth and its processes. Geology is just a part of it. This is also how a geologist differs from a geoscientist.
Geology means "study of the Earth", which is the primary Earth science. Geology deals with the composition of Earth materials, structures, and processes. It is also concerned with the organisms of the planet and how the planet has changed over time. Geologists search for fuels and minerals, study natural hazards, and work to protect the Earth's environment, while a geoscientist deals with biological, ecological, chemical, geological, and hydrological conditions of the earth. This shows that Earth science deals with a larger area of study.
These areas of studies give us interest when it could be easier to understand, and this is what the online sites provide us. Please see: http://geology.com/articles/what-is-earth-science.shtml.
