What is the difference between and an oenologist and a sommelier?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Basically, an oenologist is a winemaker or a person that is an expert in the making of wine. A sommelier is a person that generally manages wine service in a hotel or restaurant and has extensive knowledge about wines and wine pairings.

For more information you can check out The Sommelier Society of America and Oenologist.org.

This video has a bit of both...
