What is the difference between American Idol and Britain's Got Talent, other than location?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Britain's Got Talent is the British equivalent of America's Got Talent, in which judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan, and Amanda Holden hold auditions around the country looking for Britain's most talented act, be it singing, dancing, ventriloquism, etc. The winner of Britain's Got Talent gets £100,000 and a chance to perform in front of the royal family at the Royal Variety Show.

On the other hand, American Idol is exclusively a singing competition, with the winner receiving a record deal from a major US label.
