What is the difference between a Toyota Seqouia and the Toyota 4Runner?

I love both vechicles, however I do not know the difference between the two? What are the statsics on both and what colors look best on each?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Both vehicles made by Toyota are good off road vehicles. The most notable difference between the two vehicles is the size. The Sequoia is the bigger, wider and longer vehicle while the 4Runner is a few inches smaller and shorter. Not that being big is better, being a smaller off road vehicle has its own advantages. Obviously one of the advantage is handling. A smaller vehicle needs less power to move, turn and reverse and may also mean a better gas mileage. A bigger vehicle like the Sequoia has the advantage of having more space for passengers and luggage, better protection from collission and having a more powerful engine. To sum up the differences in specifications, here are a few notes:

1. Sequoia has 4.6-liter DOHC 32-valve, 4Runner has 2.7-liter DOHC 16-valve (almost twice the size and capacity)
2. Sequoia has 6-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, 4Runner has 5-speed Electronically Controlled automatic Transmission
3. Sequoia suspension is front high-mounted coil-spring independent double-wishbone front suspension with low-pressure gas-filled shock absorbers and hollow stabilizer bar; rear coil-spring independent double-wishbone with low-pressure gas-filled shock absorbers and hollow stabilizer bar while the 4Runner has Coil-spring independent double-wishbone front suspension with stabilizer bar; coil-spring 4-link with lateral rod rear suspension with stabilizer bar
4. Both have 4 wheel anti lock brake system but the Sequoia has traction and stability control
5. Gas mileage, Sequoia has 14/19 miles/gallon (city/highway) while the 4Runner has 17/23 (3-4 miles difference)
6. Towing Capacity, Sequoia has 7300lbs, 4Runner has only 5000lbs
7. Curb weight, Sequoia is 5680lbs. 4Runner is 4400lbs.
8. Price: Sequoia - starts at 39,030, 4Runner - starts at 27,500

Colors, for me I like Sequoia at Timberland Mica (green) while the 4Runner at Salsa Red Pearl
