However, Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary describes accounting as a system that is used to record or summarize financial or business transactions. Additionally, the accountant would analyze and verify data, as well as report the results.
The definitions do not differ, because they state the same activities that an accountant is responsible for in business and financial realm. However, Merriam-Webster breaks the definition down in a way that allows easier understanding.
