What is the coolest recreational watercraft you've seen?

I've got to have one of these for the lake, but before I spend the money I'd like to see some of the other innovative watercraft designs being produced.
Show me some cool water toys

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

You called it @shadowbear
The "SeaBreacher J" (Dolphin) or the "SeaBreacher X" (Shark) are it.

Designed and built by New Zealander Rob Innes, 33, and Californian Dan Piazza, this 1 or 2 person personal watercraft can jump 10 feet out of the water, submerge 2 feet underwater, and is constructed out of the recycled canopies of US fighter jets.

"Because it's so light it pops out of the water like a cork. It can fly up to 10 feet in the air even if you are going at 15 mph."

Awesome.

I got to play around with one before winter showed up and these things are INSANELY fun.
My wife thinks i'm insane anyway so why not keep up my reputation?
No doubt a pricey plaything, but I can't take it with me and why leave it for the kid?

That Seabreacher X looks awesome, but it's not in my price range. I would pay good money for just one ride though...

I was checking out unique watercrafts at this site: http://hubpages.com/hub/Unique_Watercrafts
and would absolutely love a Transparent Kayak or Canoe. This would be perfect for me since I have backyard access to the Bayou of Dog River. I'd love to watch all the mullet play under my feet before they shoot out of the water above my head when I go out for a ride.

As far as unique and in my price range? I would probably pick a Hydrofoil Water Scooter. Check out the video. They start at about $500. I think I would totally confuse the alligators with this machine!

There we go thinking alike again... too many times to be coincidental :)

checked out those hydrofoils and although they are fun, they just don't cut it for an old man like me, I thought I was going stroke out just making a small loop, lol
A transparent kayak would be cool though.
Might come in handy for fishing for the big ones if I can see where their hanging.

Coolest watercraft? Well, if you cool water enough you get ice. So I'd say the coolest watercraft would be an ice boat. They'd never be a hit here in Louisiana though.

You really have to play the soundtrack because it sets the scene:

I think it really depends on what your recreation is. If you like to have parties with total style and elegance for 499 of your closest friends, The Lady Windridge in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. is the way to go. I've never been on it, but hundreds of times, I've been within 50 feet of it while it sailed right by--and I never knew exactly how big it was until I went to answer the question.

"Lady Windridge is 170' and certified to carry up to 500 guests. She is one of the most elegant private motor charter yachts, specifically built to offer the air of sophisticated ambiance. Whether planning a corporate or private event the atmosphere of uncompromised luxury throughout the main salon and lounge provides a fabulous backdrop for gala entertaining. Her spacious upper deck and lounge offer magnificent sunsets, cocktails and dancing under the stars while enjoying your favorite music.

With extensive menus to choose from, both sit down and buffet, your guests will be delighted with the delectable gourmet fare prepared by her Chefs and served to you in a stylish dining salon. Two decades of New York charter experience and a crew of professionals dedicated to gracious hospitality and service will make your event onboard the Lady Windridge truly an event to remember. Excellent yacht for upscale weddings and corporate events."

An old army dukw...used in water and on land. I have seen them at various army surplus stores. http://www.dukw.com/ They are actually legal on the street and in water as a recreational vehicle.

I ain't looking to haul freight,lol
But if i could find a dukw in decent shape and the right price I can think of some useful purposes to put it to work at.

I wouldn't say use it to haul freight...Haul kids...if you already have some...HAVE MORE!!! Anyway....they all don't come in the size you might have seen in the picture...Saw one about a month ago in Shelley, Idaho...about the size of a mini van.
