What is the cheapest way to get 3g data only on my iPhone?
I have an iphone 3gs that I pay $80 a month for. I RARELY use it for calling, but only for data. My Data costs $30 a month so I feel like i'm wasting $50 a month. I want to find a way where I just pay for data.
I know that AT&T does not let you have data only with a phone.
I am willing to jailbreak my iphone.
I know that T-Mobile can only be used on edge. ( I need faster than edge)
I know that Verizon and Sprint have wireless routers (mifi/overdrive) for $60 a month.
Do I have any other options? My ideal price would be $50 or less a month for 3g data only...

I hate to be the one to break the bad news but this is not posible with at&t. Because of the hardware inside the phone can't work with sprint or verizon and t-mobile woun't activate an iphone on their network although it is technacly posible. The best we can do is keep our fingers crossed that this option will soon be avalible or just get a new phone!

did you ever read my question?
I hate to break it to you, but
1) you can use an iphone on t-mobile if you jailbreak it
2) you can use the data from sprint or verizon if you buy one of their mobile wifi and use the iphone over wifi
Please don't answer a question if you don't know what you're talking about.
The Verizon and Sprint networks use an entirely different cell phone system called CDMA which is completely incompatible to the GSM/UMTS network used by AT&T for the 3G iPhone ... but I know the wireless router works. I thought you were asking for a way to conect to the networks without using an adapter. So with our added info i can tell you that the adapter and jailbreak will work but i don't know of any other ways to get a cheaper plan
