What is the cheapest place to eat in New York City, New York?
As a general rule, what is the best bang for my buck as far as restaurants are concerned? Aside from fast food, which restaurants are good mid-priced places?

New York City is not known for being an inexpensive place to eat or live. Most restaurants there will have you shelling out $50 or more for a simple meal for two. Even hamburgers can be expensive in New York City where some of them go for more than $10 each. But if you know where to look, you can find a cheap meal.
One of the cheapest places to eat is Dojo on West 4th St in Greenwich VillageThis place caters to vegetarians and you can get a soy burger and an] for just $4.25. If you crave a good old hot dog, you can find a real bargain at Grays Papaya on 8th Avenue in the Garment District. For just $2.75 you can get 2 hot dogs and a medium size beverage.
If you want to get a little fancier, you can go to Eisenberg's Sandwich Shop on 5th Ave in the Flatiron District. Here you can get a bowl of Matzoh Ball soup, a Chopped Liver sandwich and an egg cream for just $8.25. If it's a beer and a burger you want, check out the Corner Bistro on West Fourth St in Greenwich Village. You can get a nice juicy Bistro Burger and a beer for $8.50.
