How much does it cost and are the photographs really that crystal clear?

There are two Canon cameras that feature a very high megapixel performance of 21.1 Megapixels. They are the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III and Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III. The list price for the Mark III is $6,999 and for the Mark II is $2,499.00. This is not the highest megapixel camera in the world. There is a Seitz Camera that offers 160 megapixels for around $32,000.
Keep in mind that more resolution does not necessarily mean that the images will be better. It does mean that you can enlarge the image more and crop out part of the image and still have acceptable resolution. Canon makes the EOS 50D, which offers 18.1 megapixels, and uses the same Canon lenses for around $1,000 list. Canon also makes very nice compact digital cameras like the PowerShot G12, which offers 10 megapixels of resolution for a list of $499.
