What is the best way to sync 2 macs?
Chronosync seems to be the best so far.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

For everything else I use Driobox. https://www.getdropbox.com/referrals/NTExODU0NDk
You get 2GB free and can get 50GB for $10 a month or $100 a year. It syncs anything you put into its folder automatically, maintains a backup in its server, and keeps a record of previous versions so you can revert to an older version or get back a file that was deleted. Works on Mac, Windows, and Linux.
Another more manual approach is to do a Time Machine backup on one machine and restore from it to the other,

M$There are a ton of "in the cloud" services that can help you. Generally, Google is your friend in this arena and short of iTunes can provide all of the services you need for free.

By using services that maintain storage online, each workstation (mac or pc) simply becomes a client. You don't necessarily have to do all of your work online but storing data online is handy.
Google Mail is a great example of this. Since I switched over to using Google Mail for my domains, I email is seamlessly synced in Outlook on my PC, on my Mac and on my Blackberry, plus I can use the google mail web based client in a pinch at a public terminal.
