A ball and chain would be a good start. If the dog hangs out in the backyard you best not have anything close to your 6 foot fence that the dog can climb or jump on. Because you would be amazed how good they can jump and climb. Your fence better have a serious foundation also because these dogs are great diggers too. If you lock your dog in a cage, it better have a roof.

Mine is chained but that does not always work. When the girl dog down the street is in heat, he does his escape act. Plenty of exercise may help calm the dog down. They have huge ammounts of energy and are easily bored.

I agree totally. People in general need to research the breed of dog before becoming dog parents. This particular breed LOVES to RUN and they are pretty smart.
Escape equals running (and maybe a girl dog thrown in for good measure).

The first thing you should do when you get a husky is to make sure your yard is securely fenced. Huskies are great jumpers and they love to dig, so make sure that you make the fence high and the foundations deep. Without these precautions you run the risk of your new dog running way.
