These are 10 effective ways to increase your energy level:

1. Don't follow strict schedules because this can make you feel anxious and stressed. Avoid forcing yourself to work on something because your predetermined schedule says so. Let your reign loose and allow yourself to work on projects that are most appealing to you at the present.

2. Sleep with the light off. Light has a tendency to interfere with sleep because it inhibits melatonin secretion and thus resets your biological clock. Keep your bedroom dark as much as possible to ensure full cycles of sleep.

3. Include in your diet sufficient brain food. More or less 50-60% of the brain's overall weight is pure fat. Fats are used as insulation for its billions of nerve cells and the better insulated a cell, the faster it sends messages and the speeds up your thinking and mental processes. So, it would be best to eat foods with healthy mix of fats for energy and productivity. Excellent choices are fish like wild salmon, mackerel and anchovies as well as dark leafy green vegetable.

4. Do regular stretching to keep your muscles and tendons in a healthy state and to avoid injury to them as well. This will also keep the arteries of the brain open and unclogged. Since the brain accounts for 15% of the body's flow and maintaining a free flow of oxygenated blood to most vital organs of the body which is an effective way to create more vigor in your life.

5. Plan a vacation so that you will have consistent things to look forward to. This is a great way to increase vitality over the long haul and planning a really great vacation will motivate you to be all the more productive.

6. Spend at least one day a month in complete silence. This is a wonderful practice to increase productivity and energy levels over the long haul. There are little voice inside our head that never stops and cultivating the ability to quiet this chatter even for a short while can do wonders for your perspective and ability to get things done.

7. You can also use audio guidance CDs. This is a simple, holistic, and backed by decades of reputable science. The brain emits frequency like a battery and audio guidance uses sound patterns to purposefully mold brain waves into desired states.

9. Say thank you 50 times a day. Gratitude yields energy. So every nigh before you go to bed, spend 5 minutes saying thank you out loud for all the experiences you had during the day.

10. Do at least 20 minutes of Cardio exercise four times a week. this will increase the body's ability to get oxygen to the cells efficiently; lowers blood pressure, reduces cholesterol and decreases body fat.

I'm not a doctor, yet speaking from personal experience, I would first start with making sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep, drink 8 glasses of water a day to hydrate yourself, and make sure you're taking in a lot of dietary fiber on a daily basis. Then I would add a few things to your diet that increase energy, such as eating nuts, raisins, fruit (citrus oranges and grapefruit or dried fruits), vegetables (spinach, remember Popeye ate spinach), and honey is also an energy booster. You can also drink green tea, an energy drink, energy bars, or an energy shot (ie. 5 hour energy) that will increase energy, yet you don't need to have these, as you might be too energetic, or it might increase your heart rate too much. Also, getting some exercise (jumping rope or jumping jacks works) can help, as if you're sluggish, you'll be less energetic. You might want to also add herbal supplements such as ginseng to your diet, or take a daily vitamin as well to increase your energy.

I definitely concur with the exercise bit. I went from lazily planning to clean my room "someday" to vacuuming and doing the dishes all the time. Just 30 minutes every other day (3-4 days per week) helped significantly.

Remember the food pyramid from when we were kids? I believe it's as simple and as straightforward as that: making sure that we include all 5 food groups and a variety of them in our daily diet. (The 5th food group is the triangle at the top: desserts (chocolate) and snacks (chips), those should be included, but in moderation). The less processed the food, the better. For instance: picking a fruit or vegetable off of a tree, rinsing it and eating it insures that you get more antioxidants and vitamins than the frozen or canned version of the food.

1) A healthy diet that diminishes sugar and white flour. Go for the 5-6 small meals a day. Water, water, and water.

2) Moderate exercise 3-4 times a week

3) 8 hours of sleep!

4) Turn off the TV.

I recently lost 30 pounds and have lots of energy. The major factors is diet and exercise. I hope this helps.

There are many ways to boost your energy some might suggest the use of supplement or getting an adrenaline rush. However my suggestion that you need a lifestyle change. Boosting one energy comes from a holistic approach to living. First of all make sure your health is fine. People who are anemic or having depression have lower energy levels. Anemia must be treated with medicine and improving the diet. I found out that almonds are good to boost the energy. But they are not good for people ADHD. Vitamin B complex is also good to reduce stress and improve the energy level.
