What is the best way to get tan?
What is the best way to get tan? Is tanning in the sun really that bad for you? What are the alternatives?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Ther are no two ways about it; tanning is definitely bad for your skin. As well as the associated risks of skin cancer it will also age you more quickly. Think of some of those older people that you have seen who look like a leather purse and you will understand what i mean.
That beinjg said everyone knows that there is no denying that a golden tan makes you look and feel great. To achieve that tanned look you should follow these steps:
1) Rather than gong to either extreme of lying in the sun for the entire day, like some sort of basking shark, or avoiding it to the degree that you would be mistaken for a member of the Ku Klux Klan when you venture outside why not try to strike a happy medium. Limit time in the sun to a sensible amount so that you get a golden tan but do not end up looking like a lobster.
2) Use a sun bed. Ok, maybe this is not the safeest option but at least you will be aware of exactly how any uv rays you are getting.
3) Mosturise to extend the duration of your tan and avoid drying of the skin
4) Be as safe as you can be and avoid the old uvs altogether. Slap on some strong factor and use a fake tan instead. Beware of the orange effect if you are applying yourself. My best advice on the fake tan route is have a spray tan done professionally.
5) Go with pale and interesting...must dress accordingly though!!
Hope you have found this helpful!
