What is the best way to get rid of ants in my house?

I seem to have an ant problem in my house. There is not a lot of ants in any one spot, they seem to just pop up anywhere in the kitchen, office or living room. They are the larger ants. Aside from bombing the house, what is the best way to get rid of ants for good? I would love to hear of any safe ways to get rid of ants, as I do have dogs. Thank you in advance!

The ants are often attracted to a certain part of the house which has heat as well as a little dam spot. to get rid of the ants clean where you think that the ants are coming from with a dry cloth and sprinkle the area with talc. wipe up the talk and apply and ant repel spray sold in many shops nationwide. these 3 steps will cure the problem in no time.

The best thing that I have found for getting rid of ants is a product called Sevin Dust. I prefer the liquid version of it but it also comes in a powder. I use the spray on places where I see ants and I tend to use the powder to sprinkle around the house to prevent them from coming in. I am currently out and need to buy some but if I remember correctly it says on the bottle that it is pet safe.

If it's a serious problem, your best option would be calling an exterminator. It's the most cost effective way; you'll save money in the long run.
