You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

You basically can't take the 405 from the 101 to the 10 during rush hour (8:30 to 10am or 4pm to 6:30pm) without hitting massive traffic.
Getting DASH GPS unit or checking sigalert before you travel is a good idea as well because it will tell exactly how bad it is.
SigAlert.com for West LA is here: http://www.sigalert.com/map.asp?Region=LA+West

M$Don't feel like dying...take a taxi at the company expense then work on the way to/from the office. I actually did that for awhile (worked right off the 405 myself).
Get flex hours - arrive early and have breakfast at the office then take off early.
Never found a way out of it...hated, despised and resented every minute of it. It only gets worse with time. Oh, well actually I did find a way out - I quit.

I thought maybe someone would suggest getting that car mentioned in Jeff's question:

Jason, do you know if that's the source of data used by Google Maps' traffic overlay? I find that that traffic info tends to be delayed by up to 30 minutes sometimes, which is often too much latency to be useful. I'd like to get the info as directly as possible.
