What is the best way to announce that we eloped? Photo website, cards, e-cards, phone?

We announced our elopement with an online photo album and were happy with how friends responded. But I wonder, for the benefit of everyone else whether this was a good move, or whether you think this approach might have upset people? We put out some really nice photos which people responded to well. I'd be interested to hear in other people's opinions.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

when my wife and I eloped, we chose to tell our family in person and over the phone. We waited for about a month, and while some of our family members were offended, none of them were upset with us. I think, if it's family, it would be best to tell them in person -- they'll probably be very happy for you, and want to congratulate you.

I think that (especially since it no one was upset) that just doing a simple online photo album was the best way to go about it. That way people don't need to be as surprised when looking at the photos, as they would be with a short message on a card, since they got the short message about the event haven taken place beforehand, and are then looking at your pictures, instead of just getting the message.
