What is the best vintage/year for Cabernet Sauvignon?

Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

There is a great pdf chart that is only accessable through the wayback machine:
http://web.archive.org/web/20070106083148/www.erobertparker.com/info/VintageChart.pdf

1. 2000 was a really good year for Cabernet Sauvignon in California
2. Quilceda Creek 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon ($95)
3. Lenz Winery 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon
4. 2002 Diamond Mountain, Napa Valley Red Rock Terrace Cabernet Sauvignon
5 2002 Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
6 2002 Napa Valley Estate Grown Monitor Ledge Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

This is so much a matter of taste and personal preference, Andy! I've had $15 wines that were absolutely wonderful, and $500 wines that were ho-hum. Do you like peppery, or full, or jammy flavors? Are you learning to enjoy good wines, and want a "frame of reference?" Is this for personal use or a gift to impress? It will be easier to answer - and the answer will be higher quality - if you help us narrow this down.
Now, back to the Mourvedre I was drinking...
