What is the best video game that you have played so far?

Although I don't play video games that often, I have played several games in the past where I enjoyed immensely. It was a crude video game entitled "Battle City" but it really made me forgot the time. That was when I was still single and had plenty of time to spare. What is the best video game that you played so far? Why did you like it very much?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

EVER?

I would have to say that Metal Gear Solid 4 is the best game I've played in the entirety of my gaming experience.

The reasons are as follows:

1. I enjoyed games in the series beforehand. In the Nintendo days, I was too young to appreciate Metal Gear for the Nintendo Entertainment System. I had the game, but I had no idea what the game was about. Wait, you mean it's not Super Mario?

Then, when the Playstation was running sull steam, I had gotten into Japanese games, which eventually led me to Metal Gear Solid. It was so unique and odd that I knew I found something I had to follow.

2. It was the end of a series for a bunch of characters I loved. Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, Revolver Ocelot, Meryl, Otacon, and all the others. They all came together and most of the story lines I had gone through from part 1 to 3 were going to be addressed. Hideo Kojima did not disappoint.

3. Kojima has learned a lot in his years of creating video games. No one is perfect, and that goes for a creator I admire, Hideo Kojima, as well. Metal Gear Solid 4 improved upon gameplay in a way that I feel was accessible to the broadest audience it could have been for a Japanese title. Stealth is somewhat looked down upon because it slows down the pace of gameplay. Kojima figured out how to

4. MGS has not lost its insanity. There is so much I could say about the story, but it would make little sense for people who haven't played it. Just trust me: Kojima went wild with this story. Well, just imagine that you created the best thing of your career, and no you are laying it to rest. Wouldn't you want to go all out with your ideas for a coup de grace?

So that is a very abridged look into why I would hold this game above all the other games I have played. There are a lot of great games, but this game works on so many levels. It's great storytelling an gameplay all tied up in a tremendous package.

If we're talking old school, I would have to say Galaxian. There was something very mesmerizing about watching the aliens go back and forth, back and forth, and anticipating when they would start coming down shooting. Of course, that was a long time ago!
