What is the best treatment for a hangover?

I would love to hear of a good treatment for a hangover. If you know of any please share. Have you tried it yourself? And does it really work and cure the hangover? I guess we all celebrate harder than we should at times and then pay for it in the morning. I guess if the hangover treatment actually works we don't have to suffer the next day at work!

These are some effective treatments for hangover:

1. Bloody Mary may sound like fighting fire with fire but many hangover veterans think this is effective. The blend of vitamin-rich tomato juice, alcohol and Tabasco is the secret why it works wonders for the headache. Go for the virgin version which has all the benefits without the vodka.

2. Indulge an enormous greasy breakfast like sausages, fried eggs and bacon, mushrooms, tomato, beans and toast. You can also take pancake with fruit toppings and wash it down with orange juice. This is great for replenishing hydration and Vitamin C levels. Avoid drinking coffee for it will have the opposite effect.

3. Take some slices of plain toast will help with your headache the morning after but don't put any jam or butter on them. If you take burnt toast, the better for it will take your mind off the hangover for a second.

4. The simplest and cheapest and most medically sound hangover remedy is water. If you can drink two pints of water before you fall asleep. Rehydration is the key to hangover recover and try putting lemon in your water too. It can sooth the stomach and add vitamin C. Sports drinks like Gatorade prevents hydration too.

The hangover is all about dehydration, like the previous poster suggested, drink as much water as you can while drinking, or at least when you finish drinking. I recommend Gatorade, tastes much better and works much faster.

But, the next morning, water seems like the worst to drink 'cause you'll likely puke it all up.
But at least you get all the alcohol out of your system, and puking water is better than puking eggs and sausage.

The best, time tested cure i've heard from veterans is a beer. Start the process all over, basically reviving your buzz will help you get over all the queasiness. Once you got the buzz going you can work on rehydrating and gradually coming down. I think Beer is best because of the high water content compared to drinking liquor. Also carbonation is known for easing upset stomachs.

Of course if you have to work the next day, or drive, this is not a very good option for you. But the point is to get buzzed again, not drunk again.

Once again, hangovers are all about dehydration; find away to prevent this and you'll prevent a hangover. That's why some people can down cases of beer and not get a hangover, but then try drinking liquor one night and be totally $h*t faced the next morning. Beer has such a high water content, while liquor will leave you very dehydrated.

The top of the list would have to be water. Drink like a fish to keep all of last night's booze down. Adding a bit of lemon juice will also calm the nausea. Do not drink water that is either too warm or too cold. Go for something at room temperature.
Fresh fruit juice is another good option. The vitamin C found in it will provide you with quick energy that your body so craves. To ease the dry feeling in your mouth, take a few tablespoons of honey or stir it in with a glass of water. When you have had enough water try swallowing a few slices of plain toast and keeping it down. Do not add any topping like marmalade or peanut butter.
