what is the best/top rated health care information technology blog in the US? Is there a ranking system for blogs?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I didn't find rankings for health care information technology (HCIT) blogs although Google ranking would be a good measure of popularity. Now popularity might not be the best definition of "best" because in HCIT the news people don't want to hear may not be so popular. I did find a summarizer for HCIT blogs which has all the ones I thought of and more - called blog HIT Sphere. I'll probably make this website one of my daily stops.
There is at least one ranking of healthcare (in general) blogs called "Global Ranking of Top English-Language Health Blogs". The popular topics these days are healthcare reform, electronic medical records or electronic health records, and healthcare prices. A topic probably not getting enough attention is electronic healthcare privacy especially as personal health records are pushed.
There are numerous challenges with HCIT that I don't believe are given due consideration by policy makers. The notion that HCIT will solve the problems of healthcare ignores the long history of IT trying to solve the problems of businesses over past few decades. I am working on resource pages (not a blog) for topics I'm collecting information about - such as e-prescribing challenges, e-iatrogenesis, and HCIT failures. But these pages are primarily academic resources.
