What is the best toothbrush?

Tip for best answer: M$0.12
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I am a dental hygienist. In regards to type of brush the plug in rechargeable brushes are by far the best. Which one is best for you depends on several factors. There are three big players in the electric toothbrush arena that are supported with enough clinical data that I feel comfortable recommending them. These are the Rotadent, Sonicare and Oral B brushes. Each company makes different models as well so it can be pretty confusing. I have put a table comparing them in an article on my website. http//www.helpmehygienist.com/choosing-an-electric-toothbrush
I usually recommend the Rotadent for patients with braces, crowding or periodontal disease. My general preference for those with straight teeth is the Oral B line and the sonicare are best for those with difficulty maneuvering a brush like those with arthritis or Parkinson's disease. This is also the best pick if you like the traditional rectangular brush shape.
