The Best things my Mac can do:
- It runs Mac OS ( the GUI ) - A user-friendly, intuitive, highly flexible client OS.
- It runs UNIX at its core - A versatile, powerful, IMMENSELY customizable operating system in and of itself.
- It runs Windows - Either natively, or concurrently under Mac OS, allowing me to run programs from both Windows and Mac OS platforms seamlessly.
Favorite Software:
- Terminal - It allows me to customize, hack, adapt, and change to my liking, the Mac OS GUI's system code and parameters to customize and re-configure the way the GUI works in order to suit my desires and creative impulses. I can also operate seamlessly within Enterprise Level computing environments, all without leaving the convenience of my Client-friendly GUI interface.
It basically runs several operating systems concurrently, combining the most productive aspects of each, to deliver the best possible user experience and productivity capabilities of any system I've ever used ( or even heard of ). And it wraps it up all into a very stylish package. How many other operating systems can deliver on such a claim ?

M$Macaroni: Mac's OS X is a rock-solid operating system, but that doesn't mean it's maintenance-free. Atomic Bird's Macaroni runs OS X maintenance scripts on a regular schedule, keeping your Mac in tip-top shape auto magically.
Installing Mac's OS X gives you a boot-time utility to repair your disk, repair permissions, validate the system's preference files, and get rid of possibly corrupted cache files... all without inserting the system disk. I use this.
Onyx: Onyx is a maintenance, optimization, and personalization utility for Mac OS X. It allows you to manually run maintenance scripts, to view system logs, and to tweak oodles of hidden configuration settings for the Finder, Dock, Dashboard, and more.

Fun Mac stuff: Garageband, Itunes
Been a mac person since 1986. Love it!

This will be more than enough to appropriately answer this question, it resumes what the Mac is all about and its capabilities. Quite possible the best operating system in the world, regardless of market share.
