What is the best "SuperGroup" ever assembled?
"SuperGroups" tend to be bands formed out of band members from other successful bands

Narrowing it down is tough. My recent favorites are Gnarls Barkley and Gorillaz. I'm not entirely sure if Gnarls Barkley qualifies (can you have a 2 member super group?), but both Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green had successes prior to this project. Gorillaz is more of a true Super Group with a revolving cast and 3 core members that each had a good bit of success on their own.
As an Industrial music fan, I'd also be remiss if I didn't give a nod to Pigface. Almost everyone that is anyone in Industrial music has performed with the group, and they put on an amazing live show. Probably my favorite Pigface song is "Suck", which features Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame on vocals.
With all of that said, I would argue that the greatest Super group of all time is actually USA for Africa, based both on the sheer talent involved in the recording as well as the cause that it helped support. 47 major recording artists recorded We are the World in 1985 in the hopes of raising money and awareness to help the victims of the mid eighties Ethiopian famine.
