What is the best software to use for Customer Relations Management other than SalesForce?

Solution for smaller business
25 users max
prefer entirely online based (SAS)
prefer monthly subscription based on usage (number of active users, etc...)
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

For small to medium sized business, SugarCRM is an excellent competitor to Salesforce.com. They are largely identical, except that you can opt to host sugarCRM yourself instead of SAS. The subscription cost has to do with what features you need, multiplied by the number of users.

SugarCRM is a great choice, as many have pointed out.

Make sure you research carefully however, how much customisation and ongoing support you're going to require. That's likely to be more important, and have a larger impact than setup and basic subscription costs.

If you and your team are going to live in this system on a daily basis, the potential saving due entirely to efficiency improvements are huge, if you get it right.

Yes, SalesLogix is somewhat similar. The problem with SalesLogix is that it's a Sage product.

Many may remember Sage from the atrocity on mankind known as ACT!. The less fortunate among you may have had the displeasure of having to contact their support personnel on occasion for one of these products. I wouldn't wish such a thing on my worst enemy.

SugarCRM is a really nice, open source alternative.
It can also be purchased on a SaaS basis.

I would say twitter (free too). People love it when companies use twitter or any other social network for customer relationships now.
