What is the best site for real reviews of items like appliances, electronics etc. Similar to ConsumerReports?

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

For electronics, Amazon and Newegg. For appliances, eHow, epinions, homedepot.com and sears.com.These will present the best SURVEY of answers where you can make informed decisions.

My favorite tech review and news site is cnet.com.

They offer news and rumors, as well as in depth reviews with videos and very professional write-ups. They review consumer electronics such as cell phones, computers, cameras, and MP3 players as well as high tech items such as cars (regular and sports cars).

The videos on their Cnet TV page are very entertaining as well as informative, and the staff is very professional in all their reviews and material, which I find rare in web-based review sites.

They do not review appliances (Washer/dryer and such) and I do not know where you would go to see reviews for these things.

Honestly, I tend to check out Amazon.com for great reviews. Just search for the item you're wondering about, and it's more than likely you'll get a ton of reviews from real people that have actually bought the item themselves.

new-egg.com and also Amazon.com. New-egg is more for computers/parts and electronics. Amazon is usually my go-to before I make any purchase. They have a large pool of customers willing to write reviews, so I find them to be pretty relevent and helpful.
