Tri Tip is perfect for slicing after cooking. Here is what to do :
Buy 1 tri tip roast
Rub with salt and pepper, olive oil and garlic powder
Now you can place it on the BBQ, roast it in the oven, or throw it under your broiler. I personally prefer to leave the middle pink, others may like more or less donenes. You can use a BBQ sauce to coat the roast in the last 10 mins of cooking.
The trick to getting the best out of any cooked meat is to let it sit for 15-20 minutes (or more if it is larger) after removing it from the oven. As the meat cools down, it re absorbs some juice lost in cooking. If you cut into it too soon, you could loose some of that moisture.
After slicing tri tip, you can serve it with almost anything. For a dinner, baked potatoes and steamed veggies go great with this.
