You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It "could" cost a little more, but I'm a huge fan of Alton Brown's biscuit recipe.

I've been biscuit-challenged most of my life and this recipe makes sense and it DOES work. The biscuits are tall and fluffy and I haven't had a failure yet.
The extra cost could come from the buttermilk if your store doesn't sell it by the pint (you only need 1 cup). It is possible to substitute the buttermilk with sour milk made with 1 tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar and enough milk to make 1 cup, then let stand at room temperature for 5-10 minutes until it starts to curdle. I've used sour milk countless times when I've needed buttermilk on the fly and didn't want to run to the store. It does work.
