I will speak from my experience as a Nikon user:
I would recommend the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm 1:1.4G. This lens is their best prime in my opinion, with exception to maybe their macro lens. If you are looking for a prime lens that can also work wonderfully in very low light, this is the lens to go for.
