It opened in May 2008, was critically acclaimed first by Chowhound, then by Jonathan Gold.

I've been there five times now and I have to admit it's the best I've had anywhere in the US. I just wish I lived closer.

User Review by Purple Fluff says: "I am a pho fanatic! Therefore I am very picky about my pho! Pho 87 is by far THE BEST PHO is LA hands down!! The flavor is right on the money, the portions are good, the put more meat in their pho than any other pho spot I have tried. They also give you a whole plate of leaves and bean sprouts all to yourself. The service is light speed fast, they only take like no more then 2 minutes to bring you your food (i'm serious). I love this place so much I go there about 4 times a week and if i try another pho spot it is never the same and i regret not going to Pho 87. The price is also good compared to other places, about .50 to 1.50 cheaper, So yea, Pho 87 is the best pho in LA!! Totally recommend this place :) Also, everything else on the menu is seriously good, I am shocked whenever I try something new it's so good I cannot believe how I never ate it before! Their spring rolls are the best in town too!
* Pros: pho! and all other menu items! service, and SPEED!!
* Cons: the place is a bit run down, but who cares because the pho is so good you forget to notice"
