What is the best online personals site?

Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It depends what you're looking for. In almost all cases, it is best to go with well-known and advertised sites, because this will increase the likelihood of finding someone in line with your desires, although of course the level of competition will also rise proportionally.

Match.com and Eharmony.com appear to be two of the most popular sites in the U.S., and each has different characteristics. The advantage I see in Eharmony is the lengthy process of creating a profile and filling out a questionnaire required in order to be matched. This tends to filter out those people not dedicated to finding a lasting relationship. Also, the matching process allows you to be matched with others based upon your weighted priorities in which you would like your matches to conform to certain characteristics.

Match.com is more targeted towards casual daters, although not negatively so.

For some, there are sites out there that target physical relationships only, including part of Craigslist and Adultfriendfinder.

OkCupid.com is run by the guys who used to TheSpark and SparkNotes. It started out ok but then gradually it's starting to look and feel like all the others.

Interesting matching system - you answer questions by what your answer would be, AND by what you would like your match to answer - because obviously not everyone wants their match to perfectly agree with them. You can answer just a few, or hundreds of user submitted and OKCupid staff submitted questions, answering more improves your matches.

Oh, did I mention it's free?

eHarmony.com is the best! it's a little more than match.com but that helps weed out a lot of the people who aren't serious

match.com is more for people just wanting to "hook up"

I met my fiance in a bar.. a little embarassing. But my MOM met her match on www.match.com

She likes it, so do many. I don't buy the eHarmony crap. I tried to sign up once long ago and they told me I couldn't be matched!?!? I think I'm a pretty matchable guy. Just look at my dog.
