What is the best Media player for Windows 7 ?
I have been using The KMPlayer since I started using Windows XP. But in Windows 7, I am facing a problem with the playback of files. I cannot change the brightness, sharpness and other settings of files encoded using x264 format. I tried installing some codec packs like Combined Community Codec pack and K-Lite Codec pack, but no use. But in windows xp, things worked like a charm.
Anyone experiencing the same problem ? Got any solutions ?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

VLC is a great cross-platform media player that will play just about anything.

Agreed. VLC is certainly my choice for best media player. It's small, it's not resource intensive (ie: it wont slow down your computer loading graphics\junk you don't need). It will play just about any media you throw at it - it does not require you to download or install any 3rd party codecs (COmpression\DECompression software). It will play streaming media from the web. Compact and powerful.
+1 on the VLC recommendation
