Lyrics can be powerful!
What is the "best line" you have ever heard, from the lyrics of a song?
My two favorite that come to mind are:
"Raindrops taste like tears, without the pain" Queensyrche

And "It took the death of hope to let you go" Slipnot

In my late teens and early twenties I was filled with what I thought was angst but in hindsight I know now it was just confusion and fear but in my mind and eyes way back then these lyrics from the track "So What" by Ministry were my favorite.
"Die! Die! Die! Die!
So what, it's your own problem to learn to live with
Destroy us, or make us slaves
We don't care, it's not our fault that we were born too late
A screaming headache on the promised age
Killing time is appropriate
To make a mess and f**k all the rest, we say, we say
So what? So what?
So what? So what?
Die!" ---
I seemed to live by the words to this song back then, The rest of the lyrics are interesting too
Somewhere in my mid 20s I discovered a different side of me, well more like created a different side, a lot of them, and one that was more acceptable to a larger group of people and a self that people might find interesting. This was intentional manipulation, I really just wanted access to more sex, drugs and, alcohol, being more "friendly" was a tool for me... I went "Pop" and I found Third Eye Blind and although it did not know it then this "creationary buddawiggi" was a lot like the real be but with different intentions .. my favorite lyrics then were from the song "Semi Charmed Kind of Life" and I lived the lyrics to this song as well
"And when the plane came in
She said she was crashing
The velvet it rips
In the city
We tripped
On the urge to feel alive
But now I'm struggling to survive
Those days you were wearing that velvet dress
You're the priestess, I must confess
Those little red panties
They pass the test
Slides up around the belly
Face down on the mattress
One
And you hold me
And we're broken" -- and we really were broken, here are the complete lyrics
Finding all the reflections of the secretive sides of myself and being so good at being so many of me left me mentally drained a lot and very often confused as to who I was at that moment so as my early thirties came around with a quieter time and a me that was just for me, I was actually close to being me around this time and I became entrapped in and smitten by the wisdom of Ani diFranco and the song "Going Down" along with a lot of her other songs then they a were my personal private anthems but these lyrics from "Back, Back, Back" were my favorite.
"Yeah, back, back, back
In the dark of your mind where the eyes of your demons are gleaming
Are you mad mad mad
about the life you never had
Even when you're dreaming?" -- and I knew that angry language like the back of my hand.
This is a great song and here are the rest of the lyrics.
By my mid and late thirties I had begun to heal of the wounds being for so long an infinite number of meees created in this person, created in me. Where once my favorite this to say was "Hi my name is Buddawiggi, welcome to your invention of myself for you today" now and moving forward I had found a way out but did not know who I was... so in looking back I went back and in order to see me I looked at what I did on a regular basis, "what we do repetitively is what we really are", so even today I have to look back and remind myself of what I was so I do not ever try to become "that guy" again and in this reflection are my now favorite lyrics from "The Becoming" by NIN
I have to like and really do all of the lyrics to this song and I use them as a model of what not be, as a survival mechanism, I like to survive and these help me to do just that. I still like all of these songs but now for different reasons.
My all time favorite line from a song and it is the best line I have ever heard from a song?
..."It won't give up it wants me dead god damn this noise inside my head"

M$I thought the question was best line and everyone is answering with half the song so I guess I'll add to my best line.
And if the Sun refused to shine
I'd still be loving you
Mountains crumble to the sea
I'd still be wanting you
or
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller then our soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all is one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
And she's buying the stairway to Heaven.
It was actually much harder to pick just a best line and not the song.
"so I hope you see that I
would love to love you
and that she will cry when she learns we are two."

M$Oh your love is a sweet addiction
I can't clean you out of my veins
It's a life long affliction
That has damaged my brain
It took just one hit to the body
To tear my defenses apart
One hit to the body
Sure went straight to the mark
One hit to the body
And it comes straight from the heart
One hit to the body
To the body, to the body
Come straight from the heart

M$"We've cheated the parson, we'll cheat him again,
For why shou'd a blockhead have one in ten?"
It's such a catchy song, full of the spirit of England. It's meant to be like a folksong, and long survived as a popular song, despite having been written by a great poet in the libretto of an opera. I often sing it to myself during the fall, which is harvest season. Come to think of it, it's fall now!
The only web video I could find of it is a bit strange, with German subtitles. It's the second song.

M$I have to say the entire song of Fist City, but just to name a few --
" but the man I love, when he picks up trash, He puts it in a garbage can"
"You better move your feet, if you don't wanna eat a meal that's called fist city"
Within Me --
"I'm leading myself to be free in this eternal goodbye"
Yellow --
"For you I'd bleed myself dry"
Iris--
"And I'd give up forever to touch you 'Cause I know that you feel me somehow"
Big Girl You are Beautiful--
"Diet Coke and a pizza please. Diet Coke, I'm on my knees." -- Just so funny and what I order haha.
Wave of Mutilation--
"i've kissed mermaids, rode the el nino, walked the sand with the crustaceans"
So awesome of lyrics-- Ship of Fools--
"On waves of love my heart is breaking"
"Beneath a lover's moon I'm waiting"
and my all time personal favorite
Glynis--
"And with these tears of respect
Conforms a sadness
For anyone who's ever lost
One who's dearest, and the love of a friend"

M$"In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry glove that layed him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame
"I am leaving, I am leaving"
But the fighter still remains
