You have to decide for yourself
1) How much risk are you willing to take on?
2) Do you consider a good investment one that yealds predictable results, or do you want rocketship rises with knowledge that it could be an equally sharp fall?
3) Do you enjoy buy and hold or are you looking for a quick turn over.
Right now emerging markets are hot, but risky. I like a nice solid dividend paying stock myself, these are not often hot, but they are quite frequently a good workhorse stock bringing nice returns while dividends help take the sting out of lower points.
