What is the best hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, for a tourist? What restaurants should we visit?

Tip for best answer: M$0.11
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The best Las Vegas hotels for tourists are all right on the Strip. Unless, that is, you want to spend all your time at the speedway (Aliante Station), Red Rock Canyon (Red Rock Station), or the Hoover Dam/Grand Canyon (Green Valley Ranch).

On the Strip, your experience will be governed by price. The best hotels cost more. Location doesn't matter much... the Flamingo and Imperial Palace have great locations, but are still among the cheapest casino resorts. This year, you'll be able to find hotel rooms for well under $100, in some cases around $40.
The best hotels in terms of luxury are Wynn, Encore, Bellagio, and Mandarin Oriental. These are all expensive, averaging $200 and more per night. If you plan on being out all day, the expense will not be worth it. If you plan on relaxing, having meals, or entertaining guests in your room, by all means spring for the elegant place.

The hotel you stay at does not have to be the most interesting or fun place. Each resort property offers the same things... a pool, a casino, free drinks if you're gambling, restaurants, bars, shopping, and so on. You'll be able to walk from the place you're staying to many other fun and interesting locations. The heart of the Strip is on Las Vegas Boulevard, north of Tropicana Avenue and South of Spring Mountain Road. It's best to stay close to this 2-mile stretch if you plan on walking.

I would recommend a hotel on the Strip for the best location. The best hotel really depends on what you like to do. Do you like a good pool? Hit the clubs at night? Eat at top-end restaurants? Looking for great shopping?

Here is a questionnaire you can fill in that will give you some suggestion based on your interestes: http://www.vegashotelspecial.com/index.php/las-vegas-hotel-match-service/

I would stay on or very near Las Vegas Strip, after all in LV you find prices for all budgets it just depends how much you want to pay. I would stay in a cheap hotel in the strip as I won't be spending much time at the hotel but would need a clean and comfortable place to sleep. Riviera hotel and casino, Imperial palace hotel casino, Ecalibur hotel casino, Stratosphere tower, and others are offering rates from about $30
