What is the best home security camera system for eight to 16 cameras? Who makes the best software?

Tip for best answer: M$11.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Bosch brand is the best. Please watch the video below, and this will answer your questions. The video explains why its CCTV system "never becomes obsolete," so that is why it's the BEST! Upgrading the system is as easy as changing a light bulb! You don't need to be a rocket scientist to use it!

Auto Track 2 is exclusive for Bosch

They use these at casinos around the world!

Bosch security guards these casino locations, so if you think top casinos are inclined to use Bosch, then it would only work well for home security.
(this list comes from Bosch homepage shown here: http://www.boschsecurity.us/en-us/Markets/Gaming/ )

Aqua Claiente Casino
Bally's Las Vegas
Bally's Atlantic City
Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas
Caesar's Tahoe
Casino Xanthi, Greece
Green Valley Ranch Casino
Laangebaan Casino, Cape Town
Venetian, Las Vegas

The world's first future proof CCTV System. The IP enabled auto dome is the first sytem based on a series of interchangeable modules.

It has advanced functions including:

1. Privacy Masking
2. Motion Detection
3. Tracking

Check out these cameras

Check out the Bosch PTZ Cameras with Auto Tracking. You can get them here, but I would consult with a security expert.

Bosch works with your iPhone or Blackberry, see the second video.

I think Bosch is on the high priced side of the market myself for home CCTV. When you are monitoring your home with a surveillance system you may only consider it to be low risk. You really want to budget for a CCTV system which is less than £500. You can buy an advanced security system even for this low amount. If you go direct to an online security specialist they should be able to advise you on what sort of CCTV cameras you require and what size hard drive you will need. I purchased a system from this website I found the products very easy to setup and it gives me the best level of security I need.

I just use web cams (wireless and wired) throughout my home and use EvoCam software to monitor. It makes a great system that I can check on when I am out of town.

For the DYI and small installation I don't think anybody makes better cameras than http://www.axis.com/

They also have a solution that supports up to 50 cameras at Megapixel resolution. That's near HD quality.

But it's EXPENSIVE!

Good Luck!
