What is the best health insurance plan for small business?

Hello. My personal individual health insurance plan is about to expire and we are looking at hiring a new employee. The new employee needs healthcare coverage, so I will need to cover him and myself. We don't currently offer healthcare plans and we are under 5 people (in the US).

Any suggestions on where to start looking? What do I look for? How do I get the best rates and best benefits?
Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I suggest you take a good look at the group insurance product of ehealthinsurance.com. By having a group insurance helps you in keeping the best employees and the premiums paid maybe considered as tax deductible.

You can get custom quotes from ehealthinsurance, you just specify your business zip code, number of employees and the type of insurance coverage.

"eHealth, Inc. is the parent company of eHealthInsurance Services Inc., the leading online source of health insurance for individuals, families and small businesses. eHealthInsurance presents complex health insurance information in an objective, user-friendly format, enabling the research, analysis, comparison and purchase of health insurance products that best meet consumers' needs.

Licensed to market and sell health insurance in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, eHealthInsurance has developed partnerships with more than 180 health insurance companies, offering more than 10,000 health insurance products online

As an employer, you select a group health insurance plan and then invite your employees to enroll.

Typically, employers cover at least 50% of each employee's monthly premium, and can also contribute to dependent premiums. The remainder is paid for by the employee."
