What is the best game out there for the Mac running OS X Leopard?

Tip for best answer: M$2.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

That depends on what kind of game you like. If you like real-time strategy, I recommend Civilization IV. If you like beautiful mind-bending brainteasers, get Enigmo 2. I don't tend to play first-person shooters, but I've heard good reviews of Unreal Tournament 2004.

I have two games I really enjoy for Mac:
Spore-
Game Site: www.spore.com
Purchase: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TS157LL/A?fnode=MjQzNDcwNg&mco=MjQzNDcwOA

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Game Site: http://www.callofduty.com/CoDMW
purchase: http://store.apple.com/us/product/TR102LL/A?fnode=MjQzNDcwNg&mco=MjQzNDcwNw

Both these games have received great reviews from numerous game review sites.

World Of Warcraft runs pretty good on the Mac, Blizzard has been really good about releasing Mac versions for a long time!

I am from the "none" camp. I decided long ago that regardless how awesome my Mac was, it was time to pull it out of gaming duty and instead invest in a console. I have been a very happy gamer with the Xbox 360 ever since, as far as I can remember the only games I ever played in any of my macs were Diablo II, Command & Conquer Generals and Spore.

Except for these three games, and Xplane (which is NOT a game), the mac is used for work and personal use, and the Xbox 360 is used for gaming. I can beat the living crap out of my Xbox over a weekend knowing that if I melt it down or it catches fire, my Mac Book Pro will be safe. The other thing is that I never have to worry about the console's ability to play a specific game: if it comes for the 360 and it doesn't run OK, I will see it in the reviews before I have a chance to buy the game. With Mac games, back when I had a G5 there were times when the machine simply couldn't hack it.

Agree. PS2 here. Bit long in the tooth now, no current gen games for it... so 360 is probably a better way to go if you want the latest/greatest.

Believe me, it is very addictive. Set aside a couple of weeks to play.
