The recap: "Doogie passes one test to get his driver's license, but he must pass another when he treats a critically ill boy."
I think that this single episode defined the conflict in the series. Doogie always struggled between being a normal kid and being an adult as defined by his job.
Tone Loc's "Wild Thing" song also played an important part in the show. Doogie dances awkwardly throughout the song. I'm a fan of NPH and think this scene provided him with some of the comedic styling I like him for.

I know, that was EVERY episode.
I watched the show in its original run (and yes, I loved it). I always like watching the pilot or else the one where Doogie goes out with Wanda for the first time, and she gets sick--A stitch called Wanda.
That's the one I'm watching now.
