What is the best compliment you ever got? What is so memorable about it?

Strangely enough, the best compliment I ever got had to do with my physical appearance. One day, my best friend Joe and I were just sitting in my car, and he looked at me and said, "You know, Miranda, you're beautiful."

This comment took me by surprise, as I'm not used to getting complimented on how I look. I think that's why it was so memorable. I mean, it's always nice to have people say, "you're a good writer" "you are talented at the trombone" "you're a good friend" but I guess my insecurities about my appearance really made that compliment stand out from the rest of them. Awesome question :)

Actually it was the best compliment being a mother, it was from the doctors of our children (allergist) saying he has never come across anyone who has taken the allergies (food allergies) with such challeng and was extremely proud of me and always asks kiddy ideas from me to pass onto other parents (halloween parties, x-mas parties). Food allergies has taken over my life, because kids are eating all the time, food surrounds us, we cannot see what someone has eaten, then touched. So food allergies has isolated us from parties, gatherings, we have to think 10 times before going anywhere, we are on high alert. We do not keep any of the foods they are allergic to in the house, to keep our kids "Kids". Now this doctor has been in practice for a very long time, we don't bother him day and night, but do everything we can to keep them safe. But to hear that especially when no one understands, makes it better than any other compliments i have had.

My granddaughter said Nana your head is pretty, I said why and she said because it is so big. I thought that was the best and most memorable because the innocence of children is beautiful and because I learned that if you don't want to know the truth you should not ask your grandchildren.

My most memorable compliment was when I was in the hospital battling an infected gall bladder. I looked pale and with a yellow undertone sunken eyes and just look pitiful. The doctor wrote in his clinical notes that I allude to a much older age than I look. e wrote “ she appears to be in her early to mid thirties while her chronological age is almost 50. Appearing much younger and vibrant than she really is”. All of the nurses wanted to see my drivers license to prove I am almost 50. Next week……. Yeah half century!
And then a few weeks ago I was working and theer was women the same age as me, and i thought she was way older and no one could guess my age. I was even hit on by a thirty something supervisor! Thank you great great grandma.. our curse to look younger
