What is the best Christmas gift you've ever received from your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife?

Just curious. :)
Tip for best answer: M$0.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Ok this might be kind of lame but the gift that comes to mind was a gift that tied into the gift I gave my ex... I had bought a weekend away in a log cabin for christmas and her gift to me was a few bottles of Da Vinci wine and starter logs for the fireplace the cabin had...

What about you? I think you gotta answer your own question on a question like this :)

That's not lame. :)

Hmm, my best Christmas gift.. well this coming Christmas it might be better.
But it was from my boyfriend (at the time) who is now my ex, he gave me this beautiful, beautiful diamond necklace. I told him not to spend a lot of money on me, and this necklace was around $1000. And we broke up a month later and I tried to give it back, but he wouldn't let me. So I still have it.
It was amazing because I wasn't expecting it at all. :)
He had also done something similar as you did, he bought us a weekend up in a cabin in the hills where I live. It was beautiful too. :)

I have no pictures or sources except for myself to show for this, but for me, it is the gift of himself (i.e. time together, a letter, a poem, etc.) It can be a service done, something created by that person, or simply time spent alone doing a favorite activity of the recepient's choice. I've heard of some people making coupons made up of things just like this, to be redeemed whenever. Gifts like this are priceless and memorable.
Have a very Merry Christmas!

I particularly love Cirque du Soleil and Alegria has been one of my favorite of their shows. As background information, my husband does not typically give any gifts to anyone for any reason...

We live in the New York area and at the time, Alegria had been touring in Europe for a couple years. We had briefly discussed trying to go while they were in London but had both been so completely busy I figured my chance for us planning the trip had long since passed. He made complete arrangements including booking tickets to the show in London on multiple nights, calling a work friend to secretly arrange for time off with my manager, bought plane tickets and arranged accommodations. He then wrapped the program in a box with thick bubble wrap. When I opened the box and saw the edge of the program it was complete happy shock. As soon as I started to see what it was, my husband was ready with laptop in hand and started playing the theme song from the show. I think it's the first time in my life I can recall crying happy tears!

I was so blown away - I never need another gift from him again :-)

The Mister got me a jet-black Kitchen Aid stand mixer with flames painted on the side, just like Alton Brown's

He is a teacher, so he got his friend, who is the art teacher at his school, to paint it and fire it in her kiln.

Best. Gift. Evar.
