What is the best back end to run a music streaming service?
I know that Pandora uses the OpenLaszlo setup, but I was wondering if that was the best back end for a robust streaming service with some social networking aspects integrated. Could you do the same with MySQL or say Cassandra? (or some other back end I am not familiar with?) I namely say this because I think it would be better to use something that has a more robust developer community (coming from a complete lame man at the moment) Thanks for the insight! (and I would really like it if the answers have some experience in the field.)
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I'm not sure on this and don't have any experience with the field, but try googling different programs(search something along the lines of "programs for music streaming") and then add up pros and cons of each program in a notepad and make your decision for what's best off of that. Hope this helps at least a bit, or you find someone who has experience. ^^; Either way, I hope things work out for you!
