Average doesn't compute when talking about the Gobi Desert - this is a Desert of extremes. At night time, the temperature can get as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 C), and in the day the temperature can get as hot as 115 degrees Fahrenheit (+45 C).
So if you absolutely must average the two together, then you'd hit 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
