What is the average height and weight of an adult Belgian shepherd dog / tervueren?
My friend is planning to adopt a Belgian shepherd / tervueren puppy from a dog’s shelter. She saw the cute little puppy when we went to adopt a dog for her mom. According to the attendants, the puppy had just lost its mother and was the only surviving one of all his brothers. She wants to know how big and tall the breed grows. Can anyone help please?

What a cute breed of dogs. It seems that the Belgian Shepherd is a fairly large dog. The male dogs reach a height of about 24 to 26 inches, and the females usually reach a height of about 22 to 24 inches. The average weight of the Belgian Shepherd reaches about 60 to 70 pounds.
I do see that they are a herding breed, so they will require a large amount of exercise. On a plus side, they are said to be a loving, good family dog. However, it's not a good breed for people who will have to be apart from the animal for extended periods of time due to work and travel.
I wish your friend all the luck and hope she makes a wise decision in adopting a puppy. I would recommend that she visits the dog on more than one occasion to get a sense of its own personal temperament. The dog will require a lot of attention, so she might keep this in mind as well.
