What is the amount of the education budget?

You can find the answer here...U.S. Department of Education. (2010). Overview: Budget Office. Ed.Gov. Retrieved from http://www2.ed.gov/about/overview/budget/index.html
Tip for best answer: M$1.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It is not a legitimate question to ask something and present the answer at the same time. That is just a type of spam. You could have devised a question based upon the statistic you are interested in. I hope you are not really a teacher as even without the answer your question is poorly formulated as it does not specify where, when, whose, etc.

A discussion question might be to give those statistics and ask, say, "Is this too much or too little?" or perhaps "What proportion should the Federal Government vs the state governments contribute to education?". etc.

I am truly sorry if I offended you. Yes, I am a retired teacher, still certified in two states. I was hoping to generate some debate on where was all the money going. Here is the answer: The United States’ annual education budget was $63.7 billion in the fiscal year 2010 for discretionary appropriations and another $96.8 billion in discretionary funding provided under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which was provided to operate 14,000 public school districts and approximately 56 million students.
