What is the age to start learning to write?
How young should children learn to write creatively? Are there any studies that show a direct correlation between sucess and the ability to write well?

I know my son had to write essays in elementary when he was about 3rd grade, but he was in a prep school. The schooling is what will make the difference. What is taught and expected of a child. Children have the capacity to learn a lot, we just teach them in our public schools only *this* much.
