What is The activity of G-proteins with respect to GTP hydrolysis?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The activity of G-proteins with respect to GTP hydrolysis is regulated by a family of
proteins termed GTPase activating proteins, GAPs. When the protein is sustainable to
definite mutations, then the proto-oncogenic protein, Ras, which is a G-protein is
involved in the origin of various forms of cancer.
One of the particular clinical significant certainties is the oncogenic activation of Ras.
This activation occurs with higher frequency than any other gene in the development of
colo-rectal cancers. Regulation of Ras GTPase activity is controlled by rasGAP. Other
than there are many other GAP proteins which are essential in signal transduction.
