im lost at this point have been getting this error every now and then for the last month or so. vista 64 and it seems like it only does it when the video card is being used folding@home gpu or in a game like crysis or bioshock

The first thing I would try to fix this error is SpinRite from Gibson Research. Its not free, but worth it. http://www.grc.com/sr/spinrite.htm
The second thing I would try is swaping the memory with known good memory chips. If you do not have one available, you should be able to test the memory with a program called MemTest 86, found at: http://www.memtest86.com/
If the above does not fix the problem, then the issue will be in some other piece of hardware. Further investigation may prove difficult and expensive.
